On the menu: Tex-Mex standards such as enchiladas, tacos, fajitas and chimichangas; seafood; hamburgers, chicken tenders, chicken-fried steak. Desserts include Mexican apple pie.
Good to know: Enchilada special is on Thursdays. Customer favorites include campeche steak, niños embueltos (bacon-wrapped shrimp), a Popular Platter (chicken fajita strips on rice) and Fundido.
Restaurant origin: Owner Noel Jaimes, former owner of Tapatio’s on Austin Avenue, opened Abuelita's on Dec. 2. He also owns and operates Abuelita's in Meridian.
