State House candidate Kacal announces new endorsements

Brazos County rancher Kyle Kacal announced endorsements from a statewide nursery association as well as a hunting and conservation group he's been involved with for over a decade.

Late last week the Texas Wildlife Association's political arm endorsed Kacal, who runs a cow-calf operation but also hosts hunting excursions on his ranch. The Texas Nursery and Landscape Association endorsement came public Monday.

"TWA believes you will bring to Austin a keen understanding and appreciation of property rights, private land stewardship, and the public values of wildlife on private land," an endorsement letter from the group's PAC reads.

TNLA's president Amy Graham said Kacal's ranching background played a part in her group's endorsement.

Kacal already unveiled an endorsement from the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association.

House District 57 stretches from rural Brazos County to McLennan County and Waco. Timothy Delasandro, Chris Scotti and Josh Tetens are also running for the GOP nomination. Meanwhile Robert Stem Jr. and Roy Walthall are squaring off in the Democratic primary.
