Moody turns back Granger with INTs

By David Ash

Moody needed two fourth-quarter interceptions to earn a 20-14 victory over Granger last week.

Trailing by a touchdown, Patrick Bush came up with the first takeaway and scooted 60 yards for a game-tying touchdown.

On the next Granger possession, Mark Viegas stepped in front of another Lions pass, setting the Bearcats up for the go-ahead score.

“We came through some adversity,” Moody coach John Ward said. “Our offense struggled with penalties and our defense really stepped up.”

Ward credited his defense and special teams for holding the team together as the offense improves in his first year as the Bearcats coach.
