Waco indie film 'Endings' gets booked for Dallas festival in September
By Carl Hoover
Whew. Long time between postings, due to a week's vacation followed by a week from Hades if you know what I mean and some of you know exactly what I mean.
Anyway, "Endings," the shot-in-Waco independent film by Baylor University digital media professor Chris Hansen, has more good news on the heels of its theatrical debut last month in Seattle. The film's been picked up by the Atlanta Underground Film Festival in August, the Dallas VideoFest held at the Angelika Film Center Sept. 23-26 and — a little wait for this one — the 2011 ReelHeART International Film Festival in Toronto.
The drama's about two adults and a child each facing the end of their lives, whose paths intersect by chance. And, no, it doesn't require 3-D glasses.
If some generous soul should put up the money, I'm sure a screening at the currently dormant Waco Hippodrome Theatre might be arranged sometime in 2010. Until then, it looks like the VideoFest might be the best, first chance to see "Endings" in a theater.
