Grammy win caps golden year for Waco native SymbolycOne

Those who know him and appreciate his talent say it was just a matter of time before Dallas producer and Waco native SymbolycOne (Larry Griffin Jr.) took home a Grammy for his work.
Last night proved the time as the album on which S1 worked with Kanye West, "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" won for Best Rap Album. As a producer (he and Kanye collaborated on the single "Power"), S1 gets a share of the glory.
Last year, the Dallas producer also worked on Beyonce's "4" and the Kanye-Jay-Z collaboration "Watch the Throne," both of which showed up in Grammy nominations.
What's ahead for 2012? Something local for one thing: S1 worked on the upcoming new album by Waco rapper Mony Mone. Given the experience and contacts S1 has— and now, a Grammy Award — I'm sure there's more in store ...
