David Crowder*Band "rockumentary" precedes final album's release
By Carl Hoover
The David Crowder*Band's final album, "Give Us Peace, or (a requiem mass in c [the happiest of all keys])" arrives online and in brick-and-mortar stores tomorrow (Jan. 10) and, true to form, the (electronic) media-savvy crew marks the occasion with a funny "What, the band's over?" video.
The video looks at the five non-Crowder members as they tackle post-band employment: B-wack (Jeremy Bush) as a hapless, clueless cashier; Mark Waldrop as a music-distracted, argumentative waiter; Mike Hogan as a demanding business executive; Mike Dodson as a construction worker and Jack Parker as an even more hapless construction worker who has no inkling the band has been dissolved.
Even in saying goodbye, the David Crowder*Band shows a healthy sense of humor.
Nice way to go out, though no surprise: "Give Us Rest" is currently No. 1 on iTunes the day after its release
