Capitol Steps bringing political satire to Waco

The comedy troupe known as "Capitol Steps" will perform at the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce annual membership banquet scheduled for Feb. 16 in the Waco Convention Center. Festivities begin at 6 p.m.

The group, which claims to put the "mock" in democracy, performs skits long on political satire. It started as a group of U.S. Senate staffers who set out to poke fun at the people and places that employed them.

Also at the banquet, 2011 chamber board chairman Don Moes and his successor, Stewart Kelly, will be recognized.

Tickets are $75 per person, and tables of eight are available for $600.

The chamber urges those wanting to attend to respond by Feb. 3.
