Can't get a good steak in Waco! Have to cook it yourself if you can find a decent steak at the grocery store that's not from Mexico.
if you want a real doulble dipped chicken fried steak go to the bulldog burger barn in bosqueville.their steaks or fresh cuts and the meat thicker than batter
The best Chicken fried steak is at The LaFiesta in Bosqueville and The Cotton Patch on Bosque. Eat in on Monday and you get it for $5.95 The best rice is at Heitmiller's in Elm Mott.
Well, it doesn't matter anyway. Waco is going "healthy". That means beef is in the process of being banned by the city council because it causes cancer.
I agree with lot of yall, Waco does NOT have any "best" steak places at all. I can't eat at both Roadhouses because my daughter is severely allergic to peanuts. We only eat at Lake Brazos or Heitmiller, like I said, it's not the best but if I ever feel like a rib-eye (cooked medium), I go to those places.
I love an awsesome steak and I have not had a bad steak from Lake Brazos Steakhouse. My husband is not a big steak eater at all (shouldn't that be the other way around lol) but he'll eat one from Lake Brazos. It's always cooked medium perfectly. I love the sauce/au jus also, so good! Now I'm hungry for a steak and it's only 10 am!
That's ok, KDF...I know how much trouble you Navy guys have figuring out genders.
Oh Green Room Grille???, grow up. Tellin' it, County Line is a cityfied/commercialized place with locations in Austin (Lake), Austin (Hill), Lake Conroe, Alburquerque, San Antonio, Oklahoma City, Houston, and known as the State Line in El Paso. I haven't tried County Line steaks, but I know they have the best barbeque. You can even order their food by mail.Steaks? Texas Roadhouse in Waco; the one in Lubbock was terrible. The locally owned steak places just aren't as good as they used to be. Green Room Grill, Elite are too expensive for me.
Cityfied/commercialized steakhouse suggestions, both of y'all. Tssssk, tsssssk......You two might as well suggest McDonalds as restaurant of the week! Give us a place where they char-broil/flame-broil their steak with hardwood, not propane/butane/natural gas substitutes, and that's the place to go get an authentic steak, the way Texas meant it to be.PS - by the way, this is Waco. You're not going to get one around here unless you drop by my backyard patio grill, but if you're ever in Austin, check out the County Line. That's where you'll taste what I'm talking about, and you'll never go back to shopping those cityfied/commercialized places expecting a true Texas steak.
I like Outback the best. I also still enjoy the old Lone Star Tavern on occasion....Heitmillers too...Cheddar's as well...Both Roadhouses have nothing special IMO...
