Which restaurant has the best waitstaff in Waco?
By WacoTrib.com staff
Nothing like a good waiter or waitress to make dining out a pleasant experience. That sets the table for our next question:
Which restaurant has the best waitstaff in Waco?
Also, feel free to give a shout out to an individual waiter or waitress, if you have a favorite!
Christine is the best. She was the best bartender at Buzzard Billys (waco and now is the best at Chuy's. Hey Christine, we will be there again Feb 27th, 2011. Come up to Buzzards for a drink around 6:30 or so??
brisa, from cotton patch, she was awesome!!!... i love cotton patch food, the broccoli rice casserole is the best
I love the bartenders at chuy's!!! Brittney, Christine, and Spencer are the rockstars!!! Plus free queso, beef, and refried beans to build your own nachos during happy hour in the bar. What resturant can beat that?
Christine at Chuy's is not only an amazing server and bartender, she is also a beauty sent from the heavens!
my favorite is Ricky at "el tapatios" so nice always.
I moved to boqueville 2 years ago and was told about this place called Bulldog Berger & cant say anything but good stuff about everybody there. Foods great so is the service. It is one of kind where everybody is called by name when you come in the door. Bulldog Berger isn't just burgers the chicken fried steak and grilled porkchops are to die for. Thanks for being that little out of the way place for Bosqueville
EL CON BELLMEAD ALL WAITERS ARE GREAT. THE FOOD CANT BE BEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
EL CON BELLMEAD ALL WAITERS ARE GREAT. THE FOOD CANT BE BEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Waco has some of the worst wait staff anywhere. However, for consistency the best in town is Outback!
I love the waitstaff in the bar at Ninfa's... Angie is by far our favorite... she is awesome!
Is there a course waitresses and waiters to take to learn how to do this? Someone could make a mint if they came up one. We have mouoths, simply tell her or him that we will let them know WHEN we need help!! Duh!!
Those wonderful ladies who bring the Big O's.
All of the friendly and fast kids at Bush's who never linger around begging for tips or giving you dirty stares. They even thank you if you let them keep the change pleasantly. Tip em more.
Rebekah at Lake Brazos Steakhouse!!!!!!
Rhonda at Sironia is the most gracious waitress I've ever encountered. She made a birthday for a friend incredibly special. Thanks again Rhonda!
this is a family ran restaurant they will treat you like family.best burgers in waco and chicken fried steaks are the best. all the staff is very friendly at the bulldog burger barn check their web site.www.bulldogburgerbarn.com

We at Red C Television eat all over and the best server is Ashley at Cheddars and Chuys. So good we know what days she works at each place.
Ashley L. at Hondo's...You the best girl! Keep up that beautiful smile! :)
If you want good service Waco, try tipping your waiter/waitress at least 15%. Being a former waiter/bartender in Waco. I have noticed they expect great srvice for a party of 5 and then leave 2 dollars on a 50 dollar tab. Bottom line is lots of Wacoans wont even tip male waiters/bartenders only women, cause the mentality is that they might get lucky with the girl and its not masculine to tip a guy.
If you've not been to The Green Room Grille on Austin Avenue and had the pleasure of Harry and Davin's most attentive and personal service, you are truly missing the jewel of Waco! Chain Restaurants can never compare.
I think the staff at Texas Roadhouse works harder and more consistently than any in Waco. The support of the management and "higher ups" is evident in their overall success in this community. Best waiters: Nate and Wes!
LOL @ mofo! I'd say Mario at El Conquistador's..my favorite Mexican food restaurant.
My family just loves Joe at Michna's. We try to go only when he is there. He always remembers us, and if the whole family is not with us he asks about them. He is our whole reason for going there. People like him can definitely "make" a dining experience.
David at Franklin LaFiesta. He is always friendly asks about the family great personality. He will suggest new menu items, never rushes to get your order or rush you away from table.
David at LaFiesta Franklin is the BEST waiter!!!! He knows what his customers want to eat and drink he sees u there in his section he's on top of things. He makes suggestions to try new food or drinks. Always has chip and salsa full. I can actually go in and he could bring out my food without even asking what I want. WOW now that is a GREAT waiter!!!!!!!!!!
The folks at Twin Rivers Golf Club are nice and friendly.
Hondos, great service especially when Ashley is working! Pretty smile, friendly and a Great Bartendar too!
What "posh" restaurant in Waco?Other restaurants can certainly have good waiters/waitresses, even the smallest places, and they are much appreciated; but the closest thing to "posh" in Waco is Northwood Inn.I've noticed that most places, fast food included, are cutting many traditional extras.Apparently they don't realize that Wacoans do notice that and the kind of service they receive.
Mario at El Con is the best..always on top of everything and is always nice..
I'd vote for Miranda at George's and when she was at The Coffee Shop in McGregor.
Kelli at Georges!!
Yeah, Olive Garden has a really great staff. We used to only eat out at Poppa Rollo's but when they decided to politize their eatery by supporting Cindi Schithead we stopped going there and probably never will again. Que Lastima.
For all around wait staff I'd probably vote for Olive Garden.
Not a big fan of eatting out but the Olive Garden @ Richland Mall, I must say, does have a great waitstaff there. Philip, is the waiter that has always been my server there. I have even waited a longer time just to be seated in his section. If you look in the dictionary or wikipedia for professional waiter, there is a picture of him. Keep up the good work Philip, and I will continue to tip over 30%!!!!!
Chris at Baris on Valley Mills. I think he is new there but he is a exceptional waiter. He works hard to get the order and he's very nice.

Outback by far has the best wait staff in Waco.
Chris at Rollos is by far the best I have found in Waco.
ANGEL at Outback!!!
William at Don Carlos
Kyle Judge at Chili's is the best. Kyle at Chili's.
Angel at Buffalo Wild Wings, Janice from the old Ryans, Debbie at Raymonds in Lorena, Jill at Dennys. In that order.
Stephanie B. at texas roadhouse awesome waitress
Amy at George's is awesome!
Sharon or Elena at Cheddars.Felicia at Chuys.Joanie at LaFiesta (Hewitt)
Chathams at the corner of Valley Mills Dr & Waco Dr (circa 1960)
Brad at El Chico.
Seba's Cocina....great food and fantastic service...best in Waco.
We don't eat out often, and when we do it is usually lunch. We had good service the last time we were at Buzzard Billy's, which was quite a change from our previous visits. We refuse to return to restaurants where the waiter/waitress squats down so his/her chin is practically on the table, or worse yet, slides into the booth next to one of us. We also don't go back if we are addressed as "you guys". This cuts down the number of restaurants we go to.If managers would train staff in community relations, this site would be overflowing with compliments for the wait staff.
Texas Roadhouse wait staff. We sit at the bar and the staff is friendly, attentive, and gracious.....
I have to cast a vote for Tommy B's too. He, and his entire staff, offer up great food, complimented by prompt service, and a smiling side order of hospitality. It warms my heart to see small family owned places like this step up to the plate as they take on the big boy chain restaurants; many of whom could learn a thing or two from Tommy B and his cheerful crew.
Angel at Buffalo Wild Wings, all the girls at Papa Bears. 0ld time-all time favorite? Eddie at the old Nicks. The Nicks waitstaff should have held classes for people wanting to work in restaurants. They were true professionals.
Oops. My post should have started with *I agree w/Bobbie*. Thanks, Senors and Senoritas and Senoras!! <><
I agree w/Dude. El Conquistador is great. Great food, fast service, family owned and run with pride. We used to eat at *Ted's* on the edge of Midway back when it was *Ted's Cafe*. Great man, great family, and *Jose* is very friendly and affable. <><
Tommy B's (in the old Schlotsky's building on Valley Mills Dr.) has great food and a wonderful, happy staff!
El Conquistador: Annette! She is just a delight.Poppa Rollos is the best pizza in town, however they could use some schooling when it comes to waitstaff. We have problems with "missing orders" and such almost everytime we go there. Before i had children, I would always sit in the bar area because of a great guy named FRITZ. It's too bad there aren't more people like Fritz on staff for the rest of the restaurant.
The best service I ever got was at THE CRACKER BARREL. I used to wait counter and tables at The Toddle House where Westview Drivein Theatre used to be and the cook and myself made a lot of good tips on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Practice, Practice, Practice. Big smile, causual demeaner and serving the customer. Thats the receipe for being a good waiter or waitress.
This is a highly subjective subject, i depends on what your definition of good service is. For instance, I like to be attended to when my glass is empty or I need some kind of condiment, but I also want to be left alone and not asked every 10 seconds, "Everything OK here?" Also, when I ask for a bottle of Tabasco, I want it before my food gets cold, but I don't want you to gush over how fast you got it to me.Anyway, I can tell you where there is NOT good service: LaFiesta in the old Red Barn building. I will never set foot in that place again, considering the last time I went there for lunch I ordered my lunch and waited 30 minutes before they even brought me a glass of tea! I didn't even get my lunch! I had to get back to an appointment, and they never brought my food, even though I asked the waitress several times where it was. Then they wanted to charge me for my tea when I left! I e-mailed a complaint to the management, and never heard another word out of them.Years ago there were two ladies who worked at Ryan's, back before it went to hell, who were really good waitresses. One's name was Grace and I can't remember the other's name, but they were always efficient and friendly.Nick's had the best waiters, waitresses and service. I haven't had good service like that in Waco since they closed down all those years ago.
Heather at Poppa Rollo's is hands down my favorite waitress. She has been there waiting on us for quite a while and knows her stuff. The Rollo's are also very active in the Waco community unlike the CHAIN restaurants. Support your local restaurants. Ruthy's in Lorena also has a great staff.
Alot of you folks need to get out of Waco to learn what service is!Casa Castillo please give me a break. If I want to place a bet go to Casa, If you want good Mexican food and great service head to CHUY"s.Chuys still has the opening crew from out of Town, when they turn it over to the locals it will probably suck like other places in Waco.
Restaurant managers who read these comments need to take notice. People WILL pay more for good service. I work in a service industry and I try my utmost to treat my employees well because they will not treat the customer any better than management treats them. Also, front line employees will NEVER care more about the customer than you do. Take care of your all-star employees and they will take care of your customers.
Here's another vote for Mario at El Conquistador on Waco Drive. Long ago, before I could remember his name, I would tell Ted or whoever was hosting that we wanted "Smiley." Everyone got us to Mario with just that description.
Mario at El Conq. is the greatest, He has the most respectful attitude, lets you know that you come first. My family has been eating with Ted since 1973. He treats you as special friend, as does all his family and wait staff. In all the years that we have been eating there we have never had a bad experience. Oh, yes the food is great also.
Yeah, Angel at Buffalo. Remember me? I am the 2 Fruit Punch Lunch
Kenny from Casa de Castillo is an awesome waiter. He is one of the reasons we always go in there. He is very sweet and is a great people person. He is always ready to have a conversation with you, especially about fishing.
Now I know where Brad came from, I recognize him from Chili's. Chili's management are such fools for letting him slip away to ElChico.
El Conquistador's wait staff, led by Mario, wins hands down. Mario greets us as we arrive at his wait-station. When we approach his area, we knows what we like to order even before we speak. Friendly conversation and interest in what we say is a plus. Also the owner, Ted, and his able welcoming staff greet you and make you feel right at home.
wow! i wish I knew where "lovemyjob" works so that I could NEVER EVER GO IN THERE. Entitlement spoils every profession making anyone rotten and useless. From professors to garbage-men, and from politicians to wait staff. The first word in all 'service' is always supposed to be 'humble'
I agree with you WingFan but most of the time we go to BWW Angel has been our hostess not our waitress. But, I see where you are coming from. So I vote Angel for best hostess at BWW and Ashley as best waitress.
This is for "notusuallynegative". It is people like you that make me love my job more and more each day. People who come into a restaurant and can't be satisfied no matter what the waitstaff does. It is you who we love talking about, love giving nicknames to, and you are how we get our daily laugh in the back as we are preparing your drinks and loading your food. I really loved your comment about us having control once you come in, that is very true, we do have control, you are coming in to our environment, our place of work to be waited on, to be served. Remember we serve your drinks and food, so I would be careful how you act when you enter a restaurant. You are one of those customers that comes into a restaurant and you think that you are the only customer in there! News flash, we have tons of other people that need to be served. You want to be waited on at the exact moment you feel you need to be waited, you want your drinks refilled and your food out when it is convenient for you, which is not interrupting your conversation. RIDICULOUS!! So are we supposed to stare you down while you are talking and once you finish talking we run over there and serve, hahaha! That makes me laugh because that will never happen. I don't think that you will ever enjoy eating out in a restaurant because your expectations will never be met. So please do us a favor and stay home and cook!
Angel at Buffalo Wild Wings is the greatest!
Hey Coach E. I did find a bright spot at El Chico. A waiter named Brad was most attentive, polite, young man and made our outing a nice experience. Yeah we will be going back to El Chico, hope he is there. I believe he faals into blogger "notusallynegative's" professional waitstaff catagory.
135 Prime--They don't bring all the food to the table at once like most Restaurants in Waco,You get your Appetizer then your Salad then your meal-Great job-Others could take a lesson
i'm sure branden's mother appreciates that
branden at cheddars is the best.
Anthony at Cotton Patch is awesome. He caters to my hard to please mother-in-law as if she were the Queen of Sheba and takes the heat off of me (and is rewarded accordingly). Cotton Patch may just be a chain restaurant, but he is a complete professional. Whatever they pay him, it is not enough.
POLAR BEAR at Poppa Rollo's along with Chris are the Best.
Peggy at the Coffee Shop in McGregor greets us as we walk in the door and knows what we usually drink and eat before we ever have a chance to order. They treat us like family there. Really good food too.
This question hit me like biting down on aluminum foil with a tooth with a big cavity. There ARE professional waitstaff in Waco, but they are rare. And you may come across one in a "posh" restaurant, but just as likely in an establishment where the food is less costly. The great majority of waitstaff immediately assume an air of control over the guests, and when they come to the table to speak, they expect the guests to stop conversing in mid-sentence and come to attention. They stand tall to reinforce the notion that they are dominant- looking down on the customers. After the meal commences, they take one of two approaches- they ignore the guests, who may need refills of drinks, condiments or the like, or they return every 45 seconds and refill drinks that are almost full without asking, and talk loudly expecting all conversation to stop immediately. One of my favorite of their ploys is to demand from you a compliment on the food when you have not had a time to even begin slicing the meat or have not had a taste of anything. They are obsessive about removing dishes, even those with food that has not been eaten. Common courtesy- you don't interrupt persons in mid-conversation- does not apply to most waitstaff. Many is the time I go ahead and tip for lousy service, and then want to kick myself later. That is just encouraging rude and unprofessional behavior. If chain or other restaurants would conduct etiquette lessons for their staff and follow through to make sure they are followed, their business would likely boom.
The Elite has great service! Sarah is a great server!
The last time my family and I went to eat at El Chico's in Waco a few Sundays ago and were very disapointed in the service. I won't be going back for a while.
Mario at El Con on Waco Drive. He's been with El Con for almost 30 years and still the best!
I have always been impressed with the waitera at Texas Roadhouse. Always on task.
