Margarita & Salsa edition: Which Waco restaurants serve the best?
In mouth-watering anticipation of Waco's Margarita & Salsa Festival in August, we'd like you to dip your chips into the following question:
Which Waco restaurants serve the best margaritas and salsa?
Share your thoughts, and feel free to comment on any previous IMO question!
My sister in law, makes a salsa that you would slap ur mommy, sister, cousin, wife and even the president for. Great salsa Coque!!!
Sebas Cocina is the best.
I honestly don't believe Waco has any restaurant with a truly good margarita. They all have that same limey mix taste. I know it's possible to make a killer margarita--just go to Austin. Smooth and strong---Waco just doesn't compete. If you want to taste a killer Margarita go to either Dallas, or Austin and get a top shelf at Gloria's. I promise one will be enough. Also excellent is Z-Tejas
eLITE HAS THE BEST WITH HAPPY HOUR ON mONDAY eLITE HAS THEM 4 T0 7 FOR A BUCK FIFTY AND THE REST OF THE WEEK AT 2.00 PLUS HALF PRICE APPETIZERS.NOT A WATERED DOWN DRINK............... A REAL DRINK UNLIKE SOME IN TOWN WHO WATER THEM DOWN DURING HAPPY HOUR.
Ninfa's has the best of both.
Ninfa's downtown no doubt has the best frozen margaritas anywhere. I travel in Texas a lot and try them in other places but not one yet measures up to Ninfa's!
You have not had a margarita till you been at the Little red Store in HaLLSBURG ON Tradinghouse Lake. The chips are out of this world with home made salsa
I enjoy the chips / salsa at Taqueria Altos De Jalisco in Hewitt. I especially enjoy the "hot sauce in the squeeze bottle" for the burritos. And I'm sure I would enjoy their margaritas.....only time will tell on that one. My second vote is LaFamilia on LaSalle too.
La Cocina de Chita definetly makes the best salsa. This is hand made, not store bought.
Taqueria Grill # 9 on Valley Mills! Their Warm Salso and their cold Salsa are great. They also have a nice spicy Salsa Verde which is very good. Their Blanco Queso is delish! Their Margaritas are the best with a slice of lime and a slice of Orange.
El Conquistador has the BEST salsa and the BEST margaritas in town!!!
Taqueria Grille # 9 on Valley Mills. Their margaritas are excellent and served with a slice of orange that just makes it taste wonderful. They serve 2 complimentary Salsas, one is cold and one is warm. They both ROCK! You can also ask for the verde salsa which a a bit of a kick.
El Taquito in McGregor has the best salsa!!
EL Conquistador in Bellmead has the best Salsa!!! If our Aunt Rita can't make it for us, we go to the El Con for salsa. It's definitely the best! The service is excellent, and the staff are always happy and ready to serve. They make their salsa fresh, multiple times during the day. It's a perfect combination of ingredients. Outstanding!!!
The best salsa and chips are from Lafamilia on Lasalle
El Conquistador in Bellmead makes the best Top Shelf Margarita. Ninfa's Nifarita is a close second.
la fiesta on franklin has the best margaritas, you just need one to start feeling a buzz, but they are so good you'll order another, maybe 2!
I worked with a lady named Sherry G. at Time Warner Cable and she made the best salsa I have ever had! If I had just had major back surgery and there was only one jar way in the back on the bottom shelf... I would endure the pain!
The best kept secret in town is El Tapatio's on New Road at Waco Drive. You won't find better food OR drinks, and at a fair price, anywhere in Central Texas.
Borderita from OTB
Don Carlos has the best tasting and best price for margaritas.
Ninfa's has the BEST salsa and margaritas!!
El Chico has fabulous salsa
El Conquistador has the BEST salsa!!!!!!
El Conquistador has the best salsa! It tastes a little different each time and it's always fresh. I wish more restaurants would adopt On The Border's double-sized chips though (but too salty!).
El Conquistador for salsa and Top Shelf Margs
