Do you think photo ID should be required to vote?

Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott asked a federal court on Monday to clear the way for the state's voter ID law after the Department of Justice failed to clear it.

Do you think photo ID should be required to vote?

I have to show a photo Id to cash a check or to buy an airline ticket. Why should I object to showing it to vote?

ABSOLUTELY! It's ridiculous to state a LEGITIMATE registered voter would be unable to prove who they are. The current system only facilitates voter fraud, which is why those perpetuating it don't want it changed.

Yes, if that law was in place before Gyorge doubya used illegal Mexicans that worked for cash, the ones the right-chicken-wingers bought over here and jimmied the voting booth, we wouldn't have had to put up with Bush destroying our ecocomy for eight long years. It will take loner than four years to find out all the crooked laws that were changed to fatten the rich-folks overseas bank accounts.

Yes, but there better be a way to tell if the photo ID is legit. New Mexico is having a big problem right now with illegal immigrants getting driver licenses using phony addresses and/or forged documents.

We gotta keep those dead folks & illegals from voting another 4 years of NOBAMA. Yes, it should be a requirement to have an ID! PERIOD!!

Yes, an ID should be required. MJones insults his/her fellow Democrats to imply that they aren't socially aware or intelligent enough to know how to perform the very simple task of obtaining an ID.

Yes, I do believe a photo ID should be required to vote. We have to show one to cash a check, purchase many items and for various other reasons. Voting is not only a privilege but an honor that needs to be taken seriously by all our citizens

Yes, I do believe a photo ID should be required. I'm not sure why people would consider that unreasonable.

NO, I do not believe that a photo ID should be required to vote. But I do believe that the GOP will do everything possible to disenfranchise, disqualify, or otherwise hamper any genuinely qualified citizen who might be inclined to vote for Democratic candidates. The local, grass roots extension of the obstruction the GOP is practicing in Washington.

Yes, and voter identification cards should be free to anybody who doesn't have a driver's license or other form of photo identification. Our founding fathers wrote the Constitution to protect our country from nut cases like we've got running Texas now.
