Do you support the Komen foundation's change of heart on funding for Planned Parenthood?
The Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation announced this week that it would no longer provide funding for Planned Parenthood women's health services, then reversed that decision Friday.
Do you support the Komen foundation's change of heart on funding for Planned Parenthood?
Komen needs to continue their $$ support of Planned Parenthood. Keep those abortions financed, rockin' & rollin'. This country is going to hell in a handbasket because a growing percentage of the population escaped the forceps of the abortion doctors. These "cradle to the grave" hand out specialists who love getting something for nothing are bringing us down and we may never get back to where we need to be as a nation. God! Please save America.
Which one? First, they reversed their decision to support women's health care. Then they reversed that. I agree with the second reversal.
Very, very disappointed that they have now reversed the original decision.
Everyone knows Planned Parenthood is all about abortion.
As for the comment below saying, "Planned Parenthood uses the Komen name to hide its real business which is abortions. Women's health is a very small part of their activities," I'd suggest checking out the diagram at the link below that shows a breakdown of Planned Parenthood's services/activities. http://wapo.st/yw3yTg
No, I do not support any funding for any organization that supports abotion...end of story
No.
This is not a "vast right-wing conspiracy". The Komen Foundation by making this move brings back into the fold millions of American women wanting to support the cause, but would not for moral reasons. Contrary to what CBS, NBC, etc. report, not all women believe in funding abortion. Good job Komen Foundation!
If the issue decided upon was based on pressure from outside groups, then shame on Komen Foundation. I am assuming that funding given from Komen to other groups is for breast cancer screenings, etc. If Planned Parenthood meets that criteria, then why not continue to fund that activity? Anyt other reasoning is political!
Yes I agree with Komen decision. If Planned Parenthood is under Federal investigation then it is reasonable Komen withdraw its support at least until investigation is complete. The issue for Planned Parenthood is they need Komen more than Komen needs them. Komen does not give that much money in relation to Planned Parenthood's overall budget. Planned Parenthood uses the Komen name to hide its real business which is abortions. Women's health is a very small part of their activities.
I Support Susan G. Komen for the Cure! It is regrettable when changes in priorities and policies affect any of Komen’s grantees, such as a longstanding partner like Planned Parenthood. However, like all organizations, Komen must continue to evolve and meet ever higher standards of excellence, so that they can fully advance their mission. Their grant-making decisions are not about politics. Guidelines must be met and maintained. Their priority is and always will be the women they serve. Any efforts to make this political or leverage it for fundraising purposes would be a disservice to women.
The Susan G. Komen Foundation is a private organization and as such can make decisions as to who they choose to support. This is a free market decision. I don't like government intervention in health care of any sort. If Planned Parenthood can find enough supporters to operate, then so be it. If Planned Parenthood actually stood for what it claims to stand for then organizations would not make the decision to cut off funding for them and there would not be calls to cut off public funding as well. It's a shame, though, because there is a need to assist younger, low-income women with reproductive health care. I went there when I was young and did not have a job that provided health insurance. Apparently, those were different times.
