The suspense lasted, oh, minutes as Waco singer Holly Tucker was the first person named to next week’s live rounds in the television vocal competition “The Voice” Wednesday night.

Viewers votes were high enough to save Tucker and fellow Team Blake member Danielle Bradbery from elimination, pushing them another week deeper in the competition. Team coach Blake Shelton picked The Shon Brothers over Justin Rivers to advance with Tucker and Bradbery. Rival coaches Adam Levine, Usher and Shakira also shaved members from their teams, though time almost ran out for Levine, with show credits scrolling onscreen as he deliberated over his choice.

Tucker and the remaining 11 “Voice” contestants will sing next Monday with voters determining by Tuesday who survives to the next round. “The Voice” airs on NBC stations at 7 p.m. Mondays and Tuesdays.
