This year's RiverSounds concert series lineup just came out and there's a number of B's that should have some buzzing: Texas singer-songwriter Bruce Robison and his singer-songwriter wife Kelly Willis; Denton's world music/polka extraordinaires Brave Combo; and Austin rhythm-and-blues pianist Marcia Ball.

(Rounding out the lineup is Antioch Community Church's praise band, performing as Antioch "Live," but I couldn't figure how to get a B out of that . . . )

The free, outdoor concerts take place at 8 p.m. Thursdays in June at McLennan Community College's Bosque River Stage, whose riverside perch provides a detriment only when the river floods - which it did the last two years.

So far, May has been free of the heavy rains that caused past floods, so we might get a full RiverSounds series with no cancellations or adjustments.

Bands and dates for this year's series, presented by MCC, are Marcia Ball, June 1; Antioch "Live" with the Purple Hulls (B for bluegrass gospel!), June 8; Brave Combo with the MCC Faculty Jazz Ensemble, June 15; and Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis with Kayla Ray and Jonna Mae, June 22.
