May I Have Your Attention, Please…

Because there are so many demands for our attention, this significant opportunity could easily be overlooked. The Greater Waco Education Summit on November 19-21 at the Waco Convention Center is the place to be if you are interested in being on the same sheet of music with people who are setting goals to maximize our quality of life and enhance our economic future.

Oftentimes working people like me miss out on events like these because they are typically held during working hours. However, the planning committee of the summit has made every effort to eliminate that challenge by repeating the daytime workshops in the evening as well. Click here for details and registration http://educatewaco.com.

The ultimate mission of the summit is to develop a COMMUNITY expectation of higher education for ALL students that will maximize OUR quality of life and enhance OUR economic future. Please do not miss this opportunity. Failure to participate could adversely affect the future of our community. I hope to see you there.

Waco’s Dumb and Dumber public schools (WISD) has been DEAD and rotting for a long, long time now. To raise the education level in Waco would be like……rasing the Dead at Oakwood. Waco has had poor and failing education for multi-generations now and Waco has the poverty and low-wages to prove it. Waco’s TAKS scores are among the worst in the entire State of Texas. Children in Waco would be getting a much better education if they attended school in South Dallas. The failing TAKS scores of GL Wiley are a prime example of Waco’s Dumb and Dumber school system (WISD). Maybe WISD should stand for WORST Independent School District?

Fred, thank you for your observations - I take it that means you’ll be there providing wonderful solutions for improvement.

Fred…actually do something? You don’t dare ask Fred to actually stop his tired, cliche script of “slaughterhouse waco” and have the gusto to fight against something. Kind of ironic when you think about it…Fred being so tired of the “uncle toms” of East Waco.

Fred, I feel really embarassed that your recent visit to a WISD school was not what you expected. I am assuming that you have visited several schools in the district to be able to draw such strong conclusions. I’m sorry that you’ve missed so many fabulous things going on in our schools. You must have missed the Montessori programs in two of our elementary schools, which sends children to 1st grade with all of the basic skills they need. And you must have also missed visitying the new program at Mountainview where students are studying from a global perspective. Surely you’ve been to visit the new robotics classes in the high schools. Visit a school where the students learn real life by earning “money” to pay the rent on their desk and buy the things that they need. THey learn about budgeting, writing checks, earning bonuses, and paying bills. Visit the school where I work with students working in a garden to raise food to feed those in need. Visit the classrooms of some of the best teachers around. And while you’re there, offer to lend a hand. I am very sorry that you have an entirely misguided view of WISD. So I ask you, are you willing to walk in a teacher’s shoes for a day? I am very proud of my colleagues in the schools, administration, and support staff. The students in Waco ISD, are brilliant and vivrant, and have already gone on to become successful doctors and lawyers in this town.

Notice how Fred isn’t responding…it isn’t fun when you get called out, is it?

Maybe we can refer to Fred as the “Bellmead Blogger” since that constitutes the entirety of his civic involvement.

Proud to live in Waco are you? Proud of Baylor are you? A pure-racist LYNCH Noose was hanging from a tree at Baylor University the very day that Obama was elected. The racist HATE at Baylor Univerity tried to steal your pride and tears of happiness on Election Day. The elite, white-faced rich students hung a murderous LYNCH NOOSE from a tree at Baylor University for all of East Waco to see. This is “in your face” HATE from Baylor University. Shame on the RACIST-HATE at Baylor University. Every single one of you who read this post of truth needs to call ten National News Agencies to report this hate and shame. Let Baylor’s HATE be revealed into God’s light of day for all to see the warning. Shame upon shame at Baylor University. I’m extremely angry. I feel like Obama’s Preacher and I want to say: “Damn, damn, damn to Baylor University”!

Fred, my friend, what is your goal? If it is to damn Baylor, Waco, whites and everyone you don’t like - you’re right on track. Yet, have you considered how you might be feeding right into the fire of hatred and bigotry?

May I suggest you consider how we might work to pursue worthy goals inspite of the never-ending supply of haters - less we become the haters? Isn’t doing the same thing the same way, expecting different results, the definition of insanity? The slightest change in course will bring a different outcome. Are you willing to be the agent of change?

Carol, Please email me when you get one of two outcomes, until then I will not be reading anymore. Either (1) Fred finds a way to be positive about something and gives up the negativity, which only hurts his causes (unless he seeks the total destruction of East Waco). Or (2) Fred stops posting.

Carol, you are too good an asset in this community to let Fred drag you down to his level.

Hey Arce…..open your blind eyes and smell the coffee. You are living in a NEGATIVE, mean and violent world Arce. I will NOT ignore the racism and hate from that Lynching-noose at Baylor University in our very own Waco. One hundred and fifty years ago it was the House-Slave who ignored the “whipping” of the Field-Slave. It was the House-Slave who shut his eyes and covered his ears at East Terrace while his brother Field-Slave screamed as he was beaten and whipped within an inch of his life. Go ahead and close your eyes and hide Arce…..while Lynch-Nooses hang and Obama signs are burned in Waco. Not me. No not me.

And now the Baylor Administration is using their “best PR tricks” in an attempt to DOWNPLAY the racist Lynching-Noose hanging from Baylor’s tree of HATE. Is Baylor aware of what happened at Rosewood? Is Baylor aware of the toil and pain from the LASH at East Terrace in East Waco? Oh by the way; the Waco Historic Society has removed any evidence of the suffering “slave quarters” at East Terrace in their attempt to hide and deny the inhuman suffering and MURDER inflicted in our own East Waco past. I hope and pray that the Baylor Football players “boycott” this weekend’s game in formal “PROTEST” of the hateful racism at Baylor University.

Fred, the kind of angst that you are feeling can cause you to have a stroke or heart attack. What good will come of that? Fred, we are on a new path, in a new day. Please don’t let the ignorance of others mar your joy.

I see the efforts of the Baylor administration to address this incident as an opportunity to enlist that group of people to address the problems of Waco as well as the problems it created for Baylor University. We know that the administration did not participate in the act and we also know that the person or persons who did are not Baylor Unversity quality. As a result the perpetrator, if he or she does not come forward should be expelled when they are uncovered. The cowards have brought shame to themselves and they don’t have the guts to admit their act and accept the punishment of the university.

The sad part of this whole incident is that forever, for all time to come, there will be news of a racial incident involving a noose at Baylor University on the occasion of the entire country coming together to elect its first African American President. This incident will be part of Baylor’s history for all time to come. Shame. Shame. Shame.

Meanwhile, I am really looking forward to the education summit. Imagine what would happen if every one in the community was focused on ensuring that every parent and child not only knew the pathway from birth to post secondary education, but had an EXPECTATION that it could happen for every child and all it took was to stay on the path. Even if someone fell off the path, what if all it would take is getting back on the path and what if the goal of the community was to help you get back on the path when they saw you fall off? What a wonderful world this would be. See you at the summit.

Hey everyone, look it’s FRED again. I like the Bellmead blogger thing. You know people that hate on other people usually do so because that is the way they are, the beliefs they actually have. So we can all rest assured that FRED is a phychopathic, HATER, Racist that probably got turned away from Baylor because he has sucked all of the free Government assisted programs that he could and was shuned. So now Fred go crawl back in your hole of a world you live in and let everyone else find some goodness on these posts! BE GONE!

Fred you must have been dropped at birth, or perhaps your 3rd grade edumucation from WISD someone there ticked you off and you quit. Something has made you the evil, ranting hypocrite that you are and guess what, your opinion means SQUAT!

Carol, thank you for speaking about the Greater Waco Education Summit. You’re absolutely right when you say that education is very important and affects directly our quality of life. The average college graduate makes over double what someone who drops out of high school would make. The students that graduate from high school will also make $300,000 more over their lifetime than those who don’t graduate. Our children need all of the options and support that we can give them. They need more options than just entertainment and sports. There are many examples and ways of being just as sucessfull. Education is the greatest equilizer in the world. I beleive our new president is a living example of that. I’ve also seen what it can do both personally and professionaly. This Summit is at least a start to discussion, involvement and communication that could make a difference. Being critical isn’t enough or courages. We should all get involved with our children and schools to give our children the best chance for education and quality of life. Thanks Carol, look forward to seeing you and many others at the Summit, Ken H.

East Waco’s newest Crack House (Faulkner and Hood) is doing a booming business and with absolutely NO enforcement from the Waco Police Department. They’re “slinging” Crack in broad-daylight. You can’t even drive down Faulkner without have to “brake” and stop because of all the Crack Addicts standing in the middle of the street to buy their “rocks”. Children (walking to and from school) must walk through this Crack infested mess……every day of their young lives. And let me remind you…..there are still only TWO Waco Police Officers in all of East Waco. Such is life in Slaughterhouse Waco. Suffer the little children of East Waco.

Fred, would you please do EW a favor? When you see this crack slinging in broad daylight - take some pictures and jot down license plates. We need brave people like you to come forward with proof so we can get this criminal element off the streets of EW.

Be a crime-stopper.

I already have Carol. I’ve called the Waco Police hundreds of times and they do nothing. One weekend I called Waco Police 911 and after the phone rang for sixteen times, I was actually put on “hold”. The Waco 911 woman then told me that all of the Waco Officers were busy on emergencies and that it would be several hours before any Waco Officer would be sent. The next day when I called to “complain” I was told that there were only TWO Waco Police Officers in the entire East Waco area. I was shocked. Be a Crime-Stopper? Get real Carol. Without a gun when our own Waco Police Department are too short-handed and weak to stop crime themselves? Your suggestion sounds comical, lame and condescending in this violent crime-infested Slaughterhouse Waco. How about: “just say NO”? That’s what our own ineffective Waco Police Department is saying it’s citizens………they are saying “NO” to fighting crime and any REAL law enforcement action in this rat-hole city. No offense Carol, but you are living in the dream-clouds behind sweetie-pie rose-shaded lens. Get Real!

Hey Fred, How about an apology for all the negative things said about the supposed noose and burning of signs — they upset me too, but I didn’t diss an entire university over that misunderstanding like you did. You owe Baylor and all of their students and alumni, as well as all of Waco, an apology.

No apology for Baylor…..ever. I have nothing but contempt for that low-tier, high-tuition, hypocritical (and now racist) Baylor University.

Oh, I just love to hear Fred the “Bellmead Blogger” pontificate from his invisible pedestal. It must hard solving all of Waco’s problems by sitting on your fat butt. Plus, your fingers get really tired from all of the irrelevant blogging. But don’t you dare censor poor Fred! Because then you censor…everyman.

Trust me, the only phone call coming from Fred’s place is to the pizza delivery guy.
