In my haste to get the Co-Op’s End of Semester info to you yesterday (review of said show forthcoming) I neglected to remind everyone that Monday, Dec. 8 marked the fourth anniversary of the shooting death of metal legend Darrell “Dimebag” Abbott.
Not familiar with one of the most important guitarists … ever?
Read his Wikipedia entry or just see for yourself what the big deal is.
In genre that takes itself so painfully seriously — sometimes to the point of being out-right silly … Dimebag was a breed apart. He was a brilliant, innovative guitarist with a sense of humor. What a concept!
