Duck and Cover
Ugh.
Idolator reports that “Billy Ray Cyrus, Charlie Daniels, recent government appointee Lee “God Bless the U.S.A.” Greenwood, Michael W. Smith, and, uh, Oliver North are going to embark on a right-wing Lollapalooza next summer, when Sean Hannity’s Freedom Concerts ‘09 take place at various locales around America.”
There’s even a rumor going around that naked-shoulder-baring Miley Cyrus will be added as a late seat-filling addition.
Enough of that nightmare — I’ll be back with better news later.

Can you tell me what has happened to the band Sloppy Joe? I have been looking for where they may be playing the last few weeks, with no luck. Can you help? Thanks, Lori

I talked to band leader Brian Brown back in August about that. He told me that between his early morning gig as on-air personality for a Killeen rock station and more lucrative corporate and private gigs (as opposed to clubs and concerts), Sloppy Joe isn’t playing much in the Waco area these days.

MTV featured band at Art Ambush
Avid fans of MTV’s The Hills will recognize the headlining performance Friday at Art Ambush, Vedera (Epic Records), a Kansas City, MO, pop-alternative quartet, whose music has been featured twice this season on the show. The concert also features Hot Chelle Rae (Jive Records), James Callihan, and Caleb Lee (former front man for Yay For Squares). The show is at 6:30, tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. The show is different because it is not a hardcore/metal show, said Gabriel Colbert, owner of Art Ambush located at 3523 Franklin Ave. He hopes to attract audiences with different musical appreciations. “It’s broadening the horizons for Art Ambush, to show people that we like all genres of music,” he said.
