Troy going mad over pads
Midnight Madness has been a staple for college basketball programs for around two decades, but now Troy High School is bringing it to the world of prep football.
The Trojans will hold their own variation of Midnight Madness beginning at the stroke of 12 tonight at Trojan Field. Friday is the first official day that UIL allows football teams to begin working out in full pads, and head coach Grady Rowe figures his team might as well get an early start at the hitting.
Rowe expects about 250 Troy fans to attend tonight’s event. The Trojans open up their season Aug. 29 at home against Whitney.
