Playoff Soccer Update
Crowley proved to be a nasty nemesis for a pair of local soccer teams in the playoffs Thursday night.
In the boys’ 4A playoffs, Crowley ousted Midway, 3-1, in a bi-district match in Corsicana. It marked the second straight year that Midway has been bounced out in its playoff opener, as last year Ennis toppled the then-district champion Panthers in area round play.
In girls’ 4A postseason action, Crowley rolled over Robinson, 7-0. Last year, the Rockettes fell to Crowley, 5-0, in bi-district action.
Waco High’s boys and girls will try to uphold the district’s honor in a doubleheader tonight against Arlington Seguin in Ennis. The University boys scored a home game for their playoff opener, as they’ll play Dallas Adamson at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Waco ISD Stadium. Also in area-round action, the Midway girls will play Corsicana at a site and time to be announced.
