36th Annual Daytime Emmy Nominations

Nothing’s perfect. That’s for sure.

But, in my opinion, the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Nomination list is much more on target than last year’s picks.

There’s absolutely no question that Kristen Alderson (Starr/OLTL) deserves to be on that list in the Younger Actress category.

That omission just leaves me shaking my head. I just don’t understand how she didn’t make the final cut with such strong performances in her major front-burner pregnancy/baby death storyline. She hit home runs with those.

Alderson’s co-star, Brandon Buddy (Cole/OLTL) also should have made the list as well, but I think next year will be his year with his outstanding acting in his recent detoxing scenes.

I also think that Carolyn Hennesy (Diane/GH) should have made the list in the Supporting Actress Category. She is one of the brightest spots on that show.

But overall, I would say, it’s a much better list than last year, when they pretty much snubbed the ABC soaps.

Click here to view my nomination wish list that I wrote in March after they released the Emmy Pre-Nomination List.

I didn’t do half bad with my list,eh?

For me, the Supporting Actress and Supporting Actor categories are very strong. It will be interesting to see who comes out on top.

Supporting Actress: OLTL’s Bree Williamson as Jess/Tess/Bess should take it, unquestionably. Although I absolutely love AMC’s Melissa Claire Egan as Crazy Annie. AMC’s Alicia Minshew as Kendall has been so strong and always gives us 110 percent. So that category is going to be tough.

Supporting Actor: Vincent Irizarry is a super strong contender. He gives us so many layers of Dr. David Hayward on AMC. He has been spectacular since returning to AMC in the past year. I also love Bradford Anderson as Spinelli on GH. Who doesn’t? He also has shown a broad range of his acting talents since setting foot in Port Charles.

All three ABC Soaps (All My Children, One Life To Live and General Hospital) got nominations in the Drama Writing category and, for me, that’s a good thing.

The Daytime Emmys show will be telecast on the CW Television Network on Sunday, August 30th from the historic Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles, CA.

Check out the list below to see if your favorites made it.

This list is better! But man too many of my faves competiting against each other! Darn it LOL! Here’s my picks:

Lead Actress: Susan Haskell; then Debbi Morgan.

Supporting actress is SO HARD cuz I love both Melissa Claire Egan & Bree Williamson. I’ll be satisfied as long as one of them wins!

Lead Actor: Thorsten Kaye (how cool would it be if he & Susan Haskell won at the same time?) Don’t wanna sound like a hater cuz I love Luke Spencer but I don’t get how Tony Geary keeps on winning when he only works about half the year. Doesn’t seem fair.

Supporting Actor: Vincent Irrizzary with Jacob Young running a real close 2nd.

Younger Actress: how in the WORLD did Kristin Alderson get left off of this list???!!! Recount please! I guess I’d have to go with Kirsten Storms, Julie Marie Berman worked my last nerve over the past year.

Younger Actor: I’m going with Cornelius because I’m not familiar with the other actors. I love Frankie, but not sure he’s done enough to be on this list.

OUstanding DRama, Series, Directing, Writing: ALL MY CHILDREN - THEY DESERVE IT! But if GH or OLTL win it all I’ll be happy too, but happier if its OLTL :-)
