Allan Marshall of the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce blogs about local education, the "town and gown" relationship and his Chamber projects.
Allan Marshall, a 2007 political science graduate of Baylor University, is director of community development at the Greater Waco Chamber of Commerce. He has tutored at Waco High School and currently mentors at Stars ISD. Allan was student body external vice president at Baylor, where he helped strengthen the town-gown relationship as well as the university's relationship with the Alumni Association and other Big 12 schools.

REMINDER! ONE BOOK!

Just a friendly reminder for the holidays….
Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore is a great book for a holiday read. I recommend this book, and we have selected it as the community wide reading selection for the Spring.
So, when you have a chance visit our local bookstores and libraries and purchase a copy! Trust me, it is a great story.
Remember, One Book, One Waco…..

Great idea! I have purchased a copy as a Christmas present for a friend. I think this is a really neat initiative, and I hope the community joins in participation. I’ll be curious to see how it comes along…
