Briles joins Bear Pit

It’s official: New Baylor football coach Art Briles is a member of the Bear Pit.

At halftime of Baylor’s basketball game against Washington State Friday night at the Ferrell Center, Baylor President John Lilley and athletic director Ian McCaw brought Briles out to the court to introduce him to the fans.

Briles was wearing a striped gold and black shirt worn by members of the Bear Fan, a group of students who sit at the baseline on both ends of the court.

Briles grabbed the microphone and told the fans that Baylor football was going to “bring it back people.”

The fans loved it.

Hey dude. Before you start thinking about trashing Baylor, you may want to join your cleaning lady at her next ESL class (that stands for English as a Second Language so you’re not more confused).

“Be deal if he guy is not a football person.”

Was that supposed to be an English sentence? Yikes!

By the way, where did you go to school?

Oh, I was mistaken, I thought it was Joe Briles is in the Bear Pit, not joins.

As a Cougar fan, it was great to see Briles turn around our program. But he showed zero class in leaving right before the Coogs’ bowl game. Zero. And taking two key assistants at the same time.

Art, here’s a reality check: The Big 12 is gonna kick your a* and you’ll be lucky to land a gig at Concordia in 5 years.

I love Baylor and want nothing but the best for the Bears, but don’t expect a guy who got his team to just barely respectable while playing in a second-rate conference to work miracles for the Bears. Ain’t gonna happen.
