Fire destroys Groesbeck home
A woman and her son are homeless this morning after a late-night fire destroyed their Groesbeck trailer home.
Groesbeck volunteer fire chief Charles Bratcher said an electrical short is the likely cause of the blaze, which started around 10 p.m. Tuesday at a trailer home at 415 E. Jacinto St.
Neither Julie Champion or her son were home at the time of the blaze, Bratcher said.
Fire crews from Mexia, Thornton, Kosse and Westlake-Limestone helped the Groesbeck volunteers contain the fire, which was fully engulfed when crews arrived.
Champion and her son are being helped this morning by American Red Cross volunteers.
