Absence solved; missing South Carolina governor off hiking
You don’t usually hear about a state’s governor pretty much “disappearing off the grid” as they say, but that was the case with South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford, who hadn’t been heard from for four days until a spokesman said he’s off hiking the Appalachian Trail.
“He’s an avid outdoorsman,” the spokesman said. “Nobody’s ever accused our governor of being conventional.”
It’s also got a lot of people ticked off at him.
