Two arrested on capital murder charges in death of Lacy-Lakeview child
Two people are being charged with capital murder and aggravated assault after the death of a child younger than 10. Another child in their care received life-threatening injuries, according to a press release from the Lacy-Lakeview Police Department.
Christopher Mack, 22, and Andrea Thomas, 24, were arrested today. They were not the parents of the children involved, Lacy-Lakeview Police Chief Dennis Stapleton said.
The incident occurred Sunday evening at an apartment in the 1700 block of East Crest Drive in Lacy-Lakeview, according to the press release. The suspects and the children were staying at the same address.
The child who died was taken to Providence Health Center in Waco in a personal vehicle. The child was pronounced dead at the emergency room, according to the press release.
The other child involved is now in the custody of Child Protective Services. The names and ages of the children involved wasn’t released.
Thomas is being held at the McLennan County jail. Her bond hasn’t been set yet.
Mack was arrested in Limestone County and is being held at the Limestone County jail. His bond information couldn’t be obtained Monday evening.

There is no excuse for what either one of these low lifes did to these children. They should both get the death penalty. People blame their child hood or drugs or alcohol on their violent tendacies and who pays the price? The poor helpless children. Why do they get a trial? If they are guilty then why don’t they get beat to death just like this child obviously did. Why do they get to sit in jail and have it made at the expense of decent hard working people? Everyone wants to whine and grip about the death penalty until it’s in their front yard. You rape, murder or kill anyone without just cause, then you simply get the death sentance. No if ands or buts. If the US would really start making people pay for their crimes, then there would be no repeat offenders.

Well JR, we got a problem here. You want to punish and punish. Try, if you will to get something back out of a person that did something wrong. You know what I’m not opposed to that.I would hate to be wrong though. For instance, I might be for taking a person that committed some particularly heinous crime and using him for medical research. Like growing a cancer in him just to try to kill it or injecting him with aids to try and find a cure. Except for one thing, where does it all stop. The death penalty beyond a doubt is applied more frequently to the less fortunate peoples of this country than the more affluent. As Johnny Cochran put it “In America the color of justice is green”. And for some reason that I will never understand lawyers can argue with a straight face that it should be that way. The day that we can stick a needle in say Rick Perrys arm for certain kinds of murder the same as Joe crackhead on street. I’ll support the death penalty until then its unfair.

I wish you would start showing these criminals mug shots with the story, especially when it is this close to home.

*Dear Bobby613 Even in Biblical day death was used as a punishment to certain crimes. And although some might say “times have changed”, it has not been for the better. Everyday you can watch some news stations and hear of a murder. We as Americans have accepted this as “the norm” instead of fighting to counter the problem. Quit slapping these criminals on the risk and prosecute their butts all the way to the grave. Instead we have criminals who have been on death row for 25+ years. That is absolutely ridiculous! The people of this nation need every penny they can keep or have reinvested back into us, NOT CABLE- A/C- BED- LIGHTING- AND FOOD FOR CRIMINALS! They killed a child…our potential next doctor, lawyer, teacher, or maybe just a nice person who makes others smile. That child will never again see his mother, the sunshine, have a girl/boyfriend, go to his senior prom, or play with his friends. Think of his mother and all his friends parents who now have to explain what happened to his friends. And people have the nerve to complain about the death penalty, and say it’s not used fairly!!! It really is not used at all!!! But I hope they they are already getting the needle ready for those two… *
