Houston woman killed in Freestone County accident

A Houston woman died at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center Sunday night after injuries from a one-vehicle accident in Freestone County.

Roxana Gutierrez, 31, of Houston, was a passenger in a 2006 Ford four-door sedan traveling southbound on South Interstate 45 just south of Fairfield around 8 p.m., according to the Department of Public Safety. The driver, Ernesto Aguirre, also of Houston, veered to the left-center medium near a curve and overcorrected. The car slid sideways and then rolled over.

Gutierrez was pronounced dead at the hospital. Aguirre, who also was taken to Hillcrest for injuries, remains in guarded condition with head injuries. Both were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident, the DPS said.

Roxanna - You will trully be missed. I am not sure why God took you from us, but you are now his soldier. For a fact… No worries your children will always be looked after by your family and your friends. I will miss you here in Dallas every weekend with me. I can just remember the first day that I met you when you were only 8 years old. You have always had the same carefree spirit that you have had since the first day that I met you. I just can’t believe that it was only the day before that you and I were sitting in my living room talking about the kids. Your smile always lit up the room and I know in my heart that when the room lights up from now on I will know that you will be there. Your kids and your family will be in my prayers. May God rest your soul. I love you just like my sister.

I AM JUST IN SHOCK OVER THE PASSING OF MY BUDDY FROM YEARS AGO. I MET ROXANA AND ERNEST AT BLACK MIDDLE SCOOL MANY MANY YEARS AGO. I HAD THE PLEASURE OF BEING A CHEERLEADER W/ ROXANA AND SHE WAS JUST SUCH A BURST OF ENERGY ALL THE TIME. I REMEMBER OUR 8TH GRADE TRIP TO WASHINGTON DC. SO MANY MEMORIES I WILL FOREVER HOLD IN MY HEART.

MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH HER ENTIRE FAMILY AND ESPECIALLY HER 2 BEAUTIFUL CHILDREN. THEIR MOMMY WILL WATCH OVER THEM FROM HEAVEN.

We don’t know how to live in the house without you. It is so hard not seeing or hearing you everyday next door. Johnny took Diesel for a walk today to look for Coach. We will water the yard and keep it nice because we know that is how you always wanted it. You were the best neighbor/landlord/cousin we could ever ask for. Everyday you will be missed. Our prayers are with you, your family, Gianni, and Alaric. We love you.

Went skydiving with my Roxy yesterday…just the way we had planned. Bittersweet moment though. She will never be forgotten because people like her are once in a lifetime. I was told to be happy for even having the opportunity to have had this person in my life..even for a second and you know what…I am, happy for the 13 years of loyal, genuine friendship. My crazy friend..you are missed every single day. Love you ALWAYS…always =0)

The world is a sadder place without Rox. She was truly was a character, a good friend, and a positive person all around. I am grateful we met and shared many many good times together. Just thinking about them now bring a smile to my face, from dancing to St. Tropez, we lived it up while we could I guess. I will miss you Roxy.
