Beware the heat and humidity today
As Sgt. Phil Esterhaus told his fellow officers at the start of every episode of Hill Street Blues: “Let’s be careful out there,” the National Weather Service presents a similar sentiment today via this special weather statement.
That’s because it’s going to be sunny and hot today, with a high near 101 degrees. With the humidity, heat-index values could get as high as 104. A south-southwest wind between 15 and 20 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph, is pulling that humidity in from the Gulf.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 77. South wind between 10 and 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Before you comment, please take a few moments to make sure that what you're saying is civil and respectful. We don't tolerate personal attacks, insults, name-calling, impersonations or generally hateful comments — they don't make for a pleasant (or productive) conversation. We want to raise the level of debate and encourage a wide diversity of viewpoints — and that means disagreeing without being disagreeable. If you wouldn't say it to your grandmother, you probably shouldn't say it here.
