Man killed in Freestone County wreck
Lewis Ray Davis, a 35-year-old truck driver from Teague, was killed early today when his 1992 Oldsmobile sedan veered off the road and struck a tree, a Texas Department of Public Safety spokeswoman said.
Davis was driving south on Farm-to-Market Road 80, half a mile south of Teague at 1:44 a.m. when the accident happened. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Freestone County Justice of the Peace Debra Hamilton.
Davis was wearing his seatbelt and the cause of the wreck is still unknown, the spokeswoman said.
