Teen, two toddlers killed in Marlin-area wreck
A teen and two toddlers were killed in a one-vehicle rollover early this morning in Falls County.
Officials from the Texas Department of Public Safety said Veronica Bravo, 17, of Chilton, was driving a 2004 Ford Taurus west on State Highway 7, about four miles from Marlin. A DPS spokeswoman said Bravo fell asleep at the wheel shortly after 1 a.m., and the car struck a guardrail and overturned into a creek.
Bravo, 2-year-old De-Asjah Sims and 7-months-old Deauntea Sims, of Lott, were pronounced dead at the scene, the spokeswoman said.
Two other passengers, Asia Sims, 18, of Chilton and Nakala Bravo, 2, of Lott, were treated for injuries at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center. Both have been released, the spokeswoman said.
All five passengers were wearing their seatbelts, the spokeswoman said.
