Waco man, woman injured in rollover accident on I-35 near Bruceville-Eddy
A Waco husband and wife are being treated for injuries at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center after they were involved in a rollover wreck earlier today and were pinned inside their vehicle.
William Ebert, 56, and his wife Robin, 37, were southbound on Interstate 35 near Bruceville-Eddy in a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee when the wreck occurred, said Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Jarrod Hubbard.
Just after 8 a.m., Robin Ebert attempted to change lanes from the right to the left and didn’t notice that a vehicle was passing on the left. Halfway into the merge, she veered back into the right lane, Hubbard said, and over-corrected the wheel.
The Cherokee hit the highway’s concrete barrier, spun counter-clockwise and landed on its right side.
Both Eberts were pinned inside the vehicle. Firefighters used extrication equipment, including a saw, to cut the couple free.
Robin Ebert was airlifted to Hillcrest, and her husband was taken to the hospital by ambulance.
Their conditions were not immediately available.
The wreck had southbound lanes closed for about 40 minutes, and traffic was backed up past Lorena.
