Update: 3 semis in wreck on interstate; gravel truck flips in China Spring
It’s wet out there and we’re hearing about various traffic accidents around the county.
On Interstate 35 South, three 18-wheelers are wrecked in accident where at least one hit the concrete median near the mile-marker 335 exit for Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
According to reports on the scanner, one of the trailers is broken in half, spraying the are with alternators and starters.
Elsewhere, portions of China Spring Road are blocked off as workers scramble to upright an overturned gravel truck.
China Spring Volunteer Fire Department Chief Larry Garrett said the gravel truck rolled onto its side as it was turning near Markum Ranch Road.
The truck has been moved to the side of the road as a wrecker truck attempts to turn it upright. The fire department is assisting with cleanup of the gravel. There were no injuries, Garrett said.
China Spring Highway will be blocked on both sides for at least 45 minutes, Garrett said.
