Limestone County men arrested for cattle theft
Two Limestone County men were arrested by a special ranger with the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association in connection with the theft of three head of cattle.
Brian Gaskin of Thornton and James Abraham III of Groesbeck are being held today at the Limestone County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bond, respectively. They are each charged with theft of cattle.
A news release issued by the association says the cattle were stolen from a ranch in Thornton and recovered at a Clifton livestock auction.
“Cattle theft is alive and well in Texas …” said the association’s Region 5 supervisor, Hal Dumas.
The association has 28 special rangers throughout Texas and Oklahoma who specialize in the cattle industry and are commissioned as special rangers by the Texas Department of Public Safety or the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.
