Record heat forecast today
UPDATE: 1 pm and it’s already hit 101…
ORIGINAL TEXT: Today is expected to be the hottest day of the year, with the National Weather Service forecasting a high today of 107. That would tie the record for the date set in 1998. Add in humidity, and it’ll feel like 109.
A heat advisory continues for the Waco area until 7 pm tomorrow. Up in the Metroplex they’re under an excessive heat warning, the next step up.
So today’s a very good day to stay inside, where it’s air conditioned. Here’s some more heat safety tips from the NWS.
