Los Angeles to set moratorium on new fast food restaurants
The Los Angeles City Council today will consider a one-year moratorium on new fast food restaurants in south Los Angeles. The moratorium passed in committee next week and now awaits a vote by the full council.
The moratorium is designed to give officials time to recruit healthier restaurants to the area. Currently, south Los Angeles has only fast food chains serving it. The moratorium could be stretched to two years if necessary.
Restaurant association officials say the moratorium is misguided because healthier restaurants would already be located in the area if they felt it was profitable. A moratorium on fast food will not help recruit any other business, restaurant representatives claim.

This has no bearing on anything remotely related to Waco. Honestly, who cares about fast food in LA?

Because the city council in LA are Democrats.
Democrats have professed across this nation that they are neither socialist nor communist. Really?
Democrats have justified abortion in the past based on the fact that people have “ownership” of their bodies. Really?
This is supposed to be America. Remember America? Land of the Free? Home of the Brave? Hot Dogs? Apple Pies? Hamburgers?
What happened?

Fast food chains are one of the primary reasons why the USA has such an epidemic of obesity and type 2 diabetes. I applaud LA for attempting to do something about it. There’s a big difference between the real food you get at a Double R or Kitoks or Cupps and the industrial strength ultra processed stuff the fast food chains market as food. IT’S NOT FOOD. Waco should enact a similar moratorium.

Nice stretch. By the way, hot dogs, apple pie and hamburgers are all German. Sorry to pop your jingoist bubble.
