Needville eliminates Robinson softball in 3A regional semis, 4-0
Tribune-Herald staff writer Chad Conine reports:
9:49 PM: It’s over. Needville eliminates Robinson, 4-0. The Rockettes finish another strong campaign with a third straight loss in the regional semifinals.
9:26 PM: Rockettes running out of time. Needville still leads, 4-0, in the top of the sixth.
9:15 PM: Still 4-0, going to the fifth inning.
9:08 PM: Needville continues to lead, 4-0, in the fourth inning.
8:49 PM: Robinson has struggled badly at the plate so far. Eight of the 11 Rockettes who have come to plate have struck out.
8:40 PM: The fifth-ranked Robinson softball team trails No. 9 Needville, 4-0, after two innings of their Class 3A regional semifinal tonight at A&M Consolidated in College Station.
This is a one-game playoff. The winner will face either No. 3 Huntington or No. 8 West Columbia next week for the Region III title.
