Veterans’ outpatient clinic opening in Temple
This news release is for an event Monday in Temple, but there could be local folks who will benefit:
The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System dedicates its new Ambulatory Care Expansion and Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders Clinic in a ceremony set for 9 a.m. Monday (April 21) in Teague Tower, Building 163. Congressman John Carter, from the 31st Congressional District, is set to be the speaker at the dedication event.
The Ambulatory Care expansion and Spinal Cord Injury and Disorders Clinic are the result of a two-year construction project that cost $2.8 million. The project provided an additional 10,500 square feet of new clinic space with 29 new examination rooms for outpatient primary care and four new exam rooms for spinal cord injury patients complete with electric lifts that make it easier and safer for both patients and staff.
The expansion project will provide greater access to care for Central Texas Veterans served by the Department of Veterans Affairs. In 2007, CTVHCS had more than 829,000 outpatient visits by veterans.
