Belton woman wins $369,176 at Louisiana casino

A spring break visit to a Shreveport, La., paid off in a big way for a Belton woman. Here’s the release sent out by the casino:

Texas woman wins $369,176 Wheel of Fortune® statewide MegaJackpot® at Eldorado Casino

SHREVEPORT, La. (March 20, 2008) - In town to visit the Eldorado Casino with her sister who was vacationing for Spring Break, a 65-year-old woman from Belton, Texas, won a $369,176 statewide progressive Wheel of Fortune® quarters MegaJackpot® after wagering only $20 late Wednesday.

“I had no idea I had won until the man who was playing the machine next to mine told me I had hit the statewide progressive,” Sandra Lester said after IGT Technicians and Louisiana State Police verified the MegaJackpot®. “I chose the machine because my sister was only two seats down from it.”

As a retiree, Lester said hitting the MegaJackpot® won’t greatly change her life, but she says it will make her retirement more enjoyable. She added that she plans to do something special for her grandchildren, in addition to treating herself to something special.

“I’m going on a cruise!” Lester exclaimed.

This is the second MegaJackpot® grand prize in Louisiana this year, bringing the state’s total prize payout to nearly $1 million.

The Wheel of Fortune® progressive slot machine is based on the popular television game show, “Wheel of Fortune®.” The primary jackpot is paid when a player plays the maximum bet ($0.75 on the quarter game) and lines up all three winning symbols on the appropriate pay line.

Wheel of Fortune® is one of 12 Louisiana MegaJackpots® systems operated by IGT.
