Local Musician Swap Meet Sun. May 17

sonnymac.JPG

I apologize for not writing any music blogs lately. My computer has been visiting Ft. Worth having a new screen installed. There has been so many end of the school year concerts and other great musical events, it would’ve been hard to chose what to write about.

MACT (Music Association of Central Texas) is having a swap meet/garage sale on Sun. May 17 from 1-6 pm at the American Legion Hall Post 121 located at N. 3rd and Tennessee St. Instruments and musical equipment will be for sale by local musicians. This is a great opportunity for musicians wanting to buy or sell. If you’re a fan of a local musician and you’d like to own a piece of their equipment, the prices will be good.

At a recent MACT event, Sonny Mac and I had our own mini swap meet. We exchanged CDs. He gave me his ‘Best Of’ CD and I gave him my Celtic CD. I love listening to “The Best of Sonny Mac”. It’s an 18 cut CD of great listening tunes that energize as well as relax and also suitable for home parties. Sonny is an awesome performer on guitar and vocals. Here’s a photo I took of Sonny at our last MACT jam. He performs throughout Central Texas. Check out www.accesswaco.com to find where he and other local musicians are playing.

If you re a local musician or a supporter of local musicians, you are also invited to the monthly MACT meeting at El Chicos on Mon. May 18 at 7:30 pm.

I am trying to locate a musician by the name of Mike Fisher. Last account I had he lived around Hewitt. He has a beautiful voice and I would like to see him again . We go way back, to the 70’s in Houston. If anyone knows where I might find him please contact me at my e-mail address kossegranny@yahoo.com Thanks!

Before you comment, please take a few moments to make sure that what you're saying is civil and respectful. We don't tolerate personal attacks, insults, name-calling, impersonations or generally hateful comments — they don't make for a pleasant (or productive) conversation. We want to raise the level of debate and encourage a wide diversity of viewpoints — and that means disagreeing without being disagreeable. If you wouldn't say it to your grandmother, you probably shouldn't say it here.
