The Waco Community Band, directed by Brian Harris, will conclude its 2008-09 concert season with “THE FRENCH CONNECTION” at 7:30 p.m. in the MCC Performing Arts Center on Tuesday, May 5. The concert will feature music written by French composers Berlioz, Ravel and others in the form of marches, transcriptions, and original works for the symphonic band. Guest soloist will be Sarah Harris, playing Camille Saint-Saen’s beautiful solo work for French horn, Romance, Opus 36. Admission is FREE for this outstanding family entertainment. Before you comment, please take a few moments to make sure that what you're saying is civil and respectful. We don't tolerate personal attacks, insults, name-calling, impersonations or generally hateful comments — they don't make for a pleasant (or productive) conversation. We want to raise the level of debate and encourage a wide diversity of viewpoints — and that means disagreeing without being disagreeable. If you wouldn't say it to your grandmother, you probably shouldn't say it here.
