It's a new reality for the Bears as the season winds to a close, and sports staffers Brice Cherry, John Werner and Jason Orts take a look at Baylor and all things Big 12 football. On tap this week:
• Baylor's Big 12 title hopes and College Football Playoff dreams were washed away last Friday in a veritable quagmire in Fort Worth. TCU defeated the Bears, 28-21, in a double overtime game that featured 23 punts and seven turnovers. Finish this sentence: It was Baylor's ugliest game since...
• We've noticed a downward trend in Baylor's offense recently. Some of it can probably be attributed to injuries and weather, and of course playing better defenses. Do you think the Bears “get right” offensively against Texas?
• Oklahoma made an impressive closing statement with its 58-23 win over Oklahoma State. The Sooners won't play on championship weekend, but they also won't lose. Think they're safely in the playoff?
• If you haven't been paying attention to the goings-on in Ames, and you probably weren't, there's a coaching change at Iowa State. Paul Rhoads, the native Iowan, is out and Toledo's Matt Campbell is in. Campbell is 36 years old and he's taking over a program that has typically struggled over the course of Big 12 history. What's your prediction for how he'll fare?
