Oklahoma State coach Mike Gundy sported a mullet when he played quarterback for the Cowboys back in the 1980s.
Now it’s back.
Gundy showed up at Monday’s Big 12 football media day sporting a mullet. The front part of his haircut was greased while the back went down to his collar.
He came up with the haircut after his 11-year-old son, Gage, kept bugging him to cut his hair.
“I said, ‘If you keep bothering me, I’m not going to cut it.’ So, I let it go now for a couple months,” Gundy told the Daily Oklahoman. “He wears on me every day. So know I’m kind of enjoying it.”
It’s doubtful that the throwback haircut will catch on. But it did make an interesting topic of conversation.
