The All-America teams are out and a school-record five Baylor players were honored on various squads.

Baylor offensive lineman Cyril Richardson, safety Ahmad Dixon, wide receiver Antwan Goodley, quarterback Bryce Petty and punter Spencer Roth were all recognized.

Baylor defensive coordinator Phil Bennett would have liked senior linebacker Eddie Lackey to have been honored on at least one All-America team.

Lackey has been the big-play man of Baylor’s defense for the last two seasons as he’s returned three interceptions for touchdowns. This season, Lackey has made a team-high 97 tackles including 13 for losses and 4.5 quarterback sacks.

Lackey has intercepted two passes and has been a tremendous leader for a defense that ranks among the top 20 in the country.

“If there is a better football player in the country, I don’t know who it is,” Bennett said. “I’m so disappointed that he hasn’t made an All-America team. Without question he’s our MVP. He will play in the NFL.”
