It's pretty remarkable how far Baylor's football recruiting has come under sixth-year coach Art Briles.

During his first few seasons, Baylor scrambled until national signing day to complete its class.

In the last several years, Briles has had most of his class well in place before the February signing day. That means Briles and his staff are getting many of the players they want at the positions where they have the most need.

But it doesn't hurt to finish strong, and the Bears ended with a flurry as they pulled in Waco High defensive tackle Andrew Billings, Fort Bend Marshall offensive lineman Maurice Porter, DeSoto linebacker Taylor Young and Navarro College defensive lineman Terell Brooks in the last two days leading up to signing day.

It all added up to Briles' highest-rated class as it finished 25th nationally in's rankings and No. 28 in's rankings.
