Baylor takes a week off before facing K-State in a Thursday game, but sports staffers Brice Cherry, John Werner and Jason Orts are still on hand to break down all things Big 12 and BU. On tap this week:

• Baylor won again Saturday, but they also lost Seth Russell. Late in the game the QB suffered a neck injury that will cost him the rest of the season. Now the Bears hand the tiller to true freshman Jarrett Stidham as they enter their toughest stretch of the season. Is he ready?

• Even before Russell went out, the Bears hit an offensive wall against the Cyclones, going six straight possessions without points. Is that a sign of mortality from the Baylor offense, something the Bears should be concerned about?

• A couple of weeks ago, Oklahoma State went to West Virginia and won in overtime. Now the 12th-ranked Cowboys go to Lubbock and look to escape with another victory. Will they get it done?

• This week's Big 12 players of the week were Samaje Perine of Oklahoma and Shawn Oakman of Baylor, two guys who haven't quite lived up to the high expectations surrounding them. Keeping in mind that they play different positions, who is more important to his team the rest of the way: Perine or Oakman?
