SUH’S THE MAN
The Big 12 features a lot of great defensive linemen, but no one is a more disruptive force than Nebraska’s Ndamukong Suh. The 6-4, 300-pound tackle has collected 10 tackles for losses, four sacks, 12 quarterback hits, seven pass breakups and an interception this season. His 44 tackles lead the Cornhuskers.
NEBRASKA DOMINANCE
The Cornhuskers have gone 10-1 all-time against the Bears, including a 32-20 win in Lincoln last season. The Bears’ only win was a 26-7 decision in Lincoln in 1956. Nebraska has gone 7-0 in Big 12 games against the Bears.
TURNOVERS A KEY
The eyes of Baylor’s defenders had to pop out when they saw Iowa State forced eight turnovers in a 9-7 win over Nebraska last weekend in Lincoln. The Bears have forced just one turnover in three Big 12 games, a Tim Atchison interception against Iowa State.
WHERE’S THE BU RUNNING GAME?
After running the ball well in nonconference play, the Bears have averaged just 46 yards in three Big 12 games. With Jay Finley getting healthier after sustaining ankle and quadricep injuries, the Bears hope to make a bigger impact on the ground.
TACKLING MACHINES
The Bears feature four of the top 10 tacklers in the Big 12 — linebacker Joe Pawelek (9.4 per game), linebacker Antonio Jones (8.1), safety Jordan Lake (7.7) and linebacker Antonio Johnson (7.6).
