VERSATILE QBS
Oklahoma State’s Zac Robinson and Baylor’s Robert Griffin aren’t just nationally ranked passers, they’re running threats as well. Robinson ranks third nationally in passing efficiency and is also a strong runner who has picked up 192 yards and five touchdowns. Griffin ranks 14th nationally in passing efficiency while running for 421 yards and eight scores.
WILL OSU LOOK AHEAD?
After a 28-23 upset of then-No. 3 Missouri last weekend, the Cowboys have a date against No. 1 Texas on Oct. 25 in Austin. Will they overlook the Bears?
BIG-GAME HUNTER
No one’s making comparisons to former OSU backs Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas, but Kendall Hunter would gain more than 1,700 yards rushing this season at his current pace. Hunter leads the Big 12 with 862 yards rushing in six games while scoring nine touchdowns.
OSU-BU CONNECTION
Three Oklahoma State coaches have done stints at Baylor. Head coach Mike Gundy was a quarterbacks coach under Chuck Reedy in 1996. Offensive line coach Joe Wickline served under Dave Roberts in 1997-98. OSU co-offensive coordinator Trooper Taylor was a defensive back at Baylor from 1988-91 and was an assistant coach from 1992-97.
NO-TURNOVER STREAK
Baylor has gone four straight games without committing a turnover, setting a modern-day school record. Griffin hasn’t yet thrown an interception in 128 passing attempts. But the Cowboys have forced 14 turnovers, including three interceptions against Missouri’s Chase Daniel last week.
