When the Cyclones blow into town, they always seem to bring some refreshing winds of change Baylor’s way.
The Bears’ 38-10 thumping of Iowa State Saturday matched the program’s most lopsided Big 12 victory ever. Have a guess who the opponent was in BU’s other 28-point conference victory?

That’s right — Iowa State. Baylor pounded the Cyclones, 49-21, in 1996 for the program’s first-ever Big 12 win.
Saturday’s victory was also historic in another way for the Bears, as it snapped a 13-game losing skid in conference play. Baylor’s last Big 12 win prior to Saturday came in a 36-35 thriller over Kansas on Oct. 22, 2006.
Griffin finds end zone again
Robert Griffin’s end-zone radar knows no end — at least not yet.
When Griffin scored on a four-yard run with 1:41 left in the first half, it gave the freshman quarterback at least one rushing TD in all six games this season. That’s the longest such streak by a Baylor player since Jerod Douglas’ six-game run in 1995.
Griffin wasn’t bad through the air, either. His 87.5 completion percentage against ISU established a school record and was the second-best single-game effort in Big 12 history with a minimum of 20 attempts, behind a 21-of-23 game from Sam Bradford of Oklahoma in 2007.
Bears not beating selves
In the past four games, the Bears have made teams beat them — because they’re not going to beat themselves.
By not turning the ball over for the fourth straight game, Baylor tied the longest streak in the program’s modern history, which the school considers from the 1947 season on.
In particular, Griffin has yet to throw an interception on the season, and is the only starting quarterback in the Big 12 to hold that designation.

The BU-Kansas game was actually played Oct. 21, 2006, not Oct. 22.

Frank. You are right -- Great Job. But matter of time is something this ol' Bear is tired of hearing, for I've heard it for years. Now I am sitting back, cheering the team, but all the talk through the years needs to be backed up. Go Bears!! <
