16 Waco-area backyard ponds open in tour
From staff reports

The Peterson pond features goldfish and koi, along with lilies and other aquatic plants.
The Heart of Texas Water Garden and Pond Society will sponsor a tour of 16 backyard ponds this weekend, including a Saturday night viewing of some illuminated ponds.
The tour Saturday and Sunday is self-guided, allowing people to choose which locations to visit and when.
Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday for all the ponds. Some ponds are viewable from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday.
Tour tickets have driving directions, with a picture and brief description of each pond.
Tickets cost $5 per person with children under 6 free. The tickets are good for all locations on both days of the tour.
Profits from ticket sales will be donated to the Cameron Park Zoo.

The pond built by Harv and Georgia Peterson in their backyard will be among 16 open to the public during this weekend’s pond and water garden tour.
