Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers has not yet opened yet in Waco, but already it’s making a splash.

Employees helped put the finishing touches on renovations to Lion’s Park, 42nd Street and Bosque Boulevard, a family fun tradition and home to Putt-Putt and Kiddieland.

On Thursday, they will put away their paint brushes and open the doors to Waco’s newest restaurant. Raising Cane’s is located on Franklin Avenue’s restaurant row, where the former Krystal’s building was demolished.

“The company has one love — quality chicken-finger meals,” spokesman Micah Hirschfield said.

Founded in 1996 in Baton Rouge, La., Raising Cane’s has grown to 90 restaurants in 14 states. It likes to enter each market by getting involved in a community project, Hirschfield said.

The restaurant employs 49 people in Waco, including managers.
